ORGANIC HAIR OR ARTIFICIAL HAIR IMPLANTATION

Since 1991, we have been carrying out this procedure on special request and following detailed, individual clarification for those cases where hair transplantation is not possible or not desirable.

HAIRMEDIC’s team has extensive experience with the technique of artificial hair implantation throughout Europe and perfectly masters the international standards. These relate to the medical-technical performance of implantation and to the newly developed biological fibres. The “bio-fibre” is composed of purely vegetable substances and is inserted hair by hair into the scalp (“implanted”).
As with all HAIRMEDIC treatments, we hold detailed information and consultation sessions with our patients prior to implantation, and do not leave them in the dark about risks (please refer to our information sheet). We generally recommend implantation if there are not enough donor hair available to perform transplantation with own hair, if transplantation is not desired by the patient, as a supplement or in combination with transplantation. We would like to point out that the implantation of artificial hair can involve risks and is not an ideal solution.

OTHER METHODS

For medically indicated hair problems (e. g. accidents, burns, etc.) we offer the so-called reduction method for smaller bald spots, or when there are only few donor hairs: an unhaired, elliptical skin area is removed under local anesthesia. The hairy areas of the skin are pulled together and sutured, which is possible due to the high elasticity of the scalp. If necessary, several reductions are made in time-delayed outpatient treatments. The usually inconspicuous scars can then be covered by mini or micro-graft grafts.

When it comes to covering larger bald spots, our surgeons recommend the method of stretching tissue prior to reduction. A kind of invisible expander gradually stretches the skin to the left and right of the bald spot, including the hair growing on it. The extender is removed after about four weeks. Now the hairy skin areas can be sewn together over the bald spot without any problems. A convincing method for excellent results.

The transplantation of body grafts is useful if the patient does not have enough donor hair available for dense transplantation.
Hair roots are taken from the areas (e. g. chest or back) which are implanted into the thin areas for densification. It should be noted here that the body hair has a different structure, growth and growth rate (without guarantee). It is therefore generally recommended for short hairstyles. Since these are only single hairs, the effort is correspondingly high. This also applies to hair transplants and eyebrow transplants.
